Announcing Michael Harris joins the team at The Sebel Brisbane Margate Beach to spearhead the new menu at Sebel’ssignature restaurant, Margate Beach House.
With a stellar career forged in the Michelin-starred restaurants of Europe, Michael is determined to create a quintessentially Australian restaurant to transform the dining experience on the Redcliffe Peninsula.
Michael’s experience is grounded in gastronomy and fine dining, having started his apprenticeship at the flagship London hotel, the Dorchester. He then went on to train with the famous Andoni Luis Aduriz of Mugaritz and Philippe Legendre of La Cinq, both two-Michelin starred chefs.
Having worked with Jamie Oliver and Heston Blumenthal and in highly esteemed kitchens across Europe and Asia. Michael arrived in Australia several years ago after a stint at Raffles Hotel Singapore and in New Zealand.
“We’re going to create a new category of dining at Margate Beach House, developing our new menu has given me the opportunity to really shine a light on this stunning location. Our new menu champions fresh, seasonal produce from local suppliers,” says Chef Harris.
“I believe in letting the food speak for itself by enhancing the natural flavours,” he states.
Michael’s technical experience and flair for flavourare extensive. By bringing these skills and knowledge to the Sebel, he brings a unique talent to create memorable, affordable, simple, clean and fresh menu items to the waterfront location at Margate Beach House.
Updates to the Margate Beach House menu cater to the needs of locals and visitors as well as in-house guests.
The new additions to the Menu include Mussels & Fries, Truffle & Wild Mushroom Arancini, Wagyu Burger, Smoked Seafood Pie and line-caught market fish of the day.
The restaurant is fast becoming a Redcliffe institution, loved by locals and celebrated for showcasing locally-sourced ingredients and produce.
